Clayton State Dedicates Lawson Amphitheater
On Thursday, Nov. 6, Clayton State University held its fourth dedication since mid-August, with a naming ceremony for a new open-air amphitheater on campus.
Clayton State Theatre Presents “Cabaret”
If indeed the theater is life, and life is a cabaret, then Clayton State Theatre Director Phillip DePoy will be presenting life itself starting this Friday, Nov. 14, when the Clayton State Theatre presents the renown musical, “Cabaret.”

Clayton State Receives Planning Grant Award Notification for Archival Studies Masters from DOE
Based on a July 2007 U.S. House of Representatives Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations bill, Clayton State University has received notification from the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) of a $310,479 planning grant for the establishment of a Master of Arts in Archival Studies at the University.
The HUB Wins USG Silver Customer Service Award
National Customer Service Week was Oct. 6 to Oct. 10, and what better way to celebrate than to note that Clayton State University’s Client Support Service Help Desk, better known as “the HUB,” has won the Silver Award in the Call Center/Service Desk/Help Desk category of the 2008 Chancellor’s Outstanding Customer Service Excellence Award, presented by the University System of Georgia (USG).

Vangela Humphries Appointed to Coordinator of Integrative and Liberal Studies
Vangela Humphries has recently been appointed the new Coordinator for Integrative and Liberal Studies at Clayton State University. Humphries previously held the position of general academic advisor in the University’s College of Arts and Sciences and officially began her new position on Aug. 1, 2008.

Student Activities Center Dedication Set for September 18
Clayton State University will dedicate its new Student Activities Center on Thursday, Sept. 18 with a by-invitation-only 10 a.m. grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony in the lobby of the new building, located adjacent to the University’s soccer field and tennis courts in the southwest quadrant of Clayton State’s 163-acre main campus in Morrow.
Corlis Cummings Named Interim Vice President of Business and Operations
Corlis P. Cummings, special assistant to the president/executive in residence at Clayton State University, and formerly the interim chancellor of the University System of Georgia (USG), has been named interim vice president of Business and Operations for Clayton State by President Dr. Thomas K. Harden. Her appointment took effect on Sept. 1, 2008.
